At the same time as Canada commemorates 150 years since confederation, Bahá’ís across Canada, and across the world, celebrate a significant anniversary in the history of the Bahá’í Faith: the 200th anniversary of the Birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá’í Faith.
Bahá’ís are eagerly anticipating this anniversary on Sunday, October 22. This historic occasion is preceded by the Birth of the Báb, the Prophet-Herald of the Bahá’í Faith on October 21. These successive days are called the Twin Holy Days by Bahá’ís and festivities encompass both days with events spread through the 48-hour period (Bahá’í days begin at sunset, so celebrations may be held from Friday evening through Sunday later afternoon).
